Through partnerships with Redeemer New York's Gotham City Fellowship, Circle City Fellowship and Leaf Vocational Guild, we're pleased to be offering eight new spaces for our Faith and Work Cohort this semester. This 12-week group is devoted to exploring how the gospel impacts the why, how and what of our workplace as we seek to bless the city of Indianapolis and seek its flourishing under Jesus.
Here's what this Fall semester will look like:
September 8th: Sajan and Rayvey George will be hosting an orientation dinner for new members to meet our cohort, and to introduce our semester together.
September 10th-October 21st: 6-week intensive course (Sunday School Hour): Using materials from our partners (above), this semester we'll be exploring how the reformed gospel vision frames our everyday work. We'll also have supplemental readings from church fathers and global theologians, but our main reading together will be Tim Keller's "Every Good Endeavor". Yes...there is homework. But this is only for the first 6 weeks. This will set us up fellow for the discussions in the following 6 weeks.
October 29th-December 20th: Workshops, Issues and Case Studies (Sunday School Hour). In order to foster collaboration, community and a commitment to practical engagement, we'll continue with 6 weeks of "workshops sessions". These workshops will be opportunities to present real-time, practical questions from your own workplace to the group. Using tools developed in our intensive unit, we'll work together to provide theological analysis, creative engagement and practical wisdom for your workplace. We'll also be providing some select workshops highlighting major issues specific to Indianapolis (crime, housing, etc) as well as addressing a range of issues common to urban industries.
Who should join?
This group is welcome to all, but we are specifically looking for:
Recent high school or college graduates entering the workforce.
Women who desire to integrate their faith and vocation.
Women and men who have a managerial role in their industry.
Women and men considering a career transition.
The fee to join is $45 per semester, which includes books, workbooks and special events (if considering joining as a couple, the $45 fee will cover you both).
