Jay works in partnership with the Lukas Gemeinde to start community development projects that center on the quality of life for each and every person in a neighborhood. Learning communities are formed in the area to determine what quality of life looks like for that locale and which stakeholders would be interested in working together to form a project bigger than any one group could alone. Projects include some or all of the following elements: education, social work, employment, counseling, faith, advocacy and support services.
Stefan/Asia
We support an organization in South Asia that understands the role of art in speaking truth to society, as well as the power that art has in bringing people together to experience the love and truth of God’s Kingdom. The organization creates events for artists of different faiths to experience intense community while creating art either on a pressing issue (such as violence against women) or a deeper question (such as how to deal with the things that divide us). These are transformational experiences that additionally produce a body of art that gets exhibited publicly, together playing a small but significant role in God’s call to disciple nations.
How pray for them:
Please pray for wisdom, guidance, and resources as the organization seeks to purchase land and build a permanent home for its programs.
Please pray for the many artists of varying faiths who have passed through the programs. Pray for the Holy Spirit to continue the good work he has started in them.
Pray for followers of Christ in South Asia to overcome ethnic, religious, and political boundaries to truly love and serve and demonstrate the transformational power of God’s Kingdom in every sphere of life.
